Read some of his comments to the first Muslim elected to the US House of Representatives:
No offense, and I know Muslims. I like Muslims. I've been to mosques. I really don't believe that Islam is a religion of evil. I -- you know, I think it's being hijacked, quite frankly.
With that being said, you are a Democrat. You are saying, "Let's cut and run." And I have to tell you, I have been nervous about this interview with you, because what I feel like saying is, "Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies."
And I know you're not. I'm not accusing you of being an enemy, but that's the way I feel, and I think a lot of Americans will feel that way.
Couple things for you bigots out there who prefer to remain in the closet: don't say bigotted things like this, and you may remain safely ensconsed in your closet of hate. And when you say something to the effect of "I have friends of [insert whatever race/religion/ethnicity/nationality/sexuality/other identifying characteristic you're about to insult here]," that does not mean you aren't still a bigot.
Furthermore, anybody who says "No offense" is about to let something incredibly offensive come pouring out of their piehole; stand back and don't let it splash on your shoes.
And for you Fox-esque pundits*, when you say something bigotted and then try to couch it in terms of your feelings, and then try to further deflect behind the skirts of "America's" feelings, don't be surprised when people shake their heads in awe and wonder, while muttering, "What a flaming asshole." Be comforted in the knowledge that they are, in fact, muttering about you.
You, Glenn Beck, are a flaming asshole, and you owe Congressman Ellison an on-air, very public, very contrite apology.

*Glenn Beck is on-air "talent" at CNN's Headline News, which, many of us are coming to realize, is Fox's CNN affiliate.

Yea, I was going to write about that too, but I think you have said all there is to say about it. I have stopped watching CNN altogether, and if MSNBC doesn't drop that asshole Buchanan, I'll be totally dependent on the internet for my news fix.
I canNOT stand Glenn Beck.
It has nothing to do with my personal political standing (because I really don't have any). I just think he is rude, self-obsessed, and closeminded.
The instance listed here, then, comes as no surprise.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
*tears hair*
THIS American was very glad to hear that a sorely underrepresented minority would be going to Congress, not in some small part hoping that his sincerity and devotion would rub off on some of the scumbags in the Beltway instead of vice versa.
"Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies."
I'm going to start saying to every bigot like this, "Sir, prove to me that there is not a hood, a stack of crosses and a container of kerosene in your closet."
Crap like this is just one more reason we have never had and will never get cable. We see enough a**sholery for free.
Thanks for exposing this.
Beck is an asshat.
That he gets to keep his job amazes me. If he had done that to someone else, he'd be gone.
Just a thought, why not start an online petition to send to his bosses?
This is really not all that surprising, and sadly there's a large percentage of Americans who do think that way.
amokk, that makes me very sad, indeed.
mr. mack, online petitions generally don't seem to do much good, and, to be honest, I wouldn't watch Headline News anyway, so long as Nancy Grace is still shilling her hate on it.
newscoma, is there anybody Beck could've said such things to that would've gotten him fired?
And thanks, all for coming over to my little spot on the intertubes. Feel free to come back any time!
i agree..... he is the most stupid and ignorant person i have ever seen... i can't believe he has a daliy show on CNN???
